Track and Predict Your Academic Success

Whether you are studying at a college in the United States or a university in the United Kingdom, keeping a close eye on your academic performance is crucial. Our Grade Calculator is designed to seamlessly handle the complex math of weighted averages, ensuring you always know exactly where you stand and what you need to score to achieve your goals.

How Does the Weighted Grade Average Work?

In higher education, not all classes are created equal. A heavy 4-credit core module impacts your final GPA much more than a 1-credit elective. Our calculator uses a weighted average system:

  1. Input Modules: Add your courses, assignments, or semesters into individual rows.
  2. Assign Credits: Define the "weight" or credit hours associated with each module.
  3. Select Grade: Choose your letter grade (for US tracking) or percentage score (for UK tracking).
  4. Automatic Calculation: We multiply your grade value by the course credits, sum them up, and divide by the total number of credits to yield your true average.

US Grade Point Average (GPA)

The standard American system operates on a 4.0 scale. Letter grades correspond directly to numeric points (e.g., A = 4.0, B = 3.0). By tracking your GPA early, you can forecast exactly what grades you need in your upcoming finals to maintain a 3.5+ GPA for Latin Honors (Cum Laude).

UK Percentage System

Universities in the UK use a percentage-based weighting system. Achieving above a 70% generally secures a prestigious First-Class Honours (1st), while a 60-69% results in an Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1). Use our tool to figure out exactly how many marks you need on your dissertation to secure a 1st.

Why You Should Use a College Grade Tracker

  • Eliminate Surprises: Never wait until graduation day to find out your degree classification. Know your standing mid-semester.
  • Strategic Studying: If you realize an upcoming 3-credit module has the power to boost your overall GPA over the 3.0 threshold, you know exactly where to allocate your study time.
  • Goal Setting: Setting up a "dummy" module row allows you to play with future grades to see what it will take to secure that Honours degree.
